Have banned the user and removed their content. Thank you all for your patience.
Thanks!
Although one thing that I found weird is that when I reported one of the posts the report seems to have gone straight to the owner of the community, ie. the perpetrator. So is there a better/faster way to report such things than starting a thread about it?
Thank you!!!
Oh hey this is the person I just encountered basically saying we need to court reactionaries to get anywhere.
Yawn.
Edit: apparently they don't seem to understand what idpol means? They seem to think it means socdemism and reformism/electoralism
Racism, sexism, homophobia and other -isms and -phobias are forms of discrimination: prejudicial attitudes based on stereotypes
This seems like a very idealist view of oppression. Racism isn't based on mental prejudices or attitudes but on concrete power structures that the ruling class uses against these groups.
Overall I don't think we should ban them for now but we should keep a close eye on them.
Yeah that was my first thought as well.
This doesn't read like something valid to focus on. It's never been a problem in the organizing that I've done. Why a comm dedicated to this?
I don't think their minds are in the wrong place, necessarily (though I do see they conflate reformism with idpol).
That being said, if their focus on superstructural societal matters continue as such, in a reactionary direction, a la MLGJoe, we may have to reconsider
If they branch out to talk about socialist economics and foreign policy against western imperialism, then I assume they're good
