Ohhh, noooo, the president did something unethical for the benefit of his family. How will the Republic survive such an abuse of power?

Honestly, whatever. Biden should just go down Trump's list of "enemies within" and preemptively pardon all of them if only to protect them in the immediate future. Stop going high and start playing Calvin Ball.

Honestly, i don't care as much as i though i would. It's over, democracy is bowing down in the US - and likely around the world - for the time being. You can't win when the deck is not only stacked, it's been entirely bought, stripped, and re engineered to guarantee a non democratic outcome 10 times out of 10. The overlords/emperors/billionaires have won, and it took a few decades of money being free speech to do so.

I know I sound super jaded.. i am, i just can't imagine a path where we're able to counter the fascist rise that's happening right now. Systemic measures that could reverse the trend basically require new laws to be voted and passed (and enacted and enforced) and the overlords now have absolute control to make sure it happens.

You can't win a game of chess, however amazing you are at following the rules of chess, if your opponent just arbitrarily removes your pieces, kicks the table, punches you in the face and declares themselves the winner after having bought the judge and changed the camera feed to the crowd so they all think you're the one that cheated.

You know, I'll go one step further: only way forward to cancel this up may be to use the unethical "openings" they've already created. Which Biden won't for sure. Things like the new presidential immunity rule - ok, so have Biden take official presidential actions that ensure democracy, have corrupt supreme court justices arbitrarily arrested, confidential investigations of trumpers released - more even, take over the airwaves forcefully by executive action and disperse those investigations.

Idk. Sorry all, I'm a bit depressed by us politics these days.
