Doctor ruined my day (self.amputee)

I went for that exam men of a certain age have to endure. The doc told me to bend over. I told him I'd rather do this lying on my side because I'm don't feel very stable in that position. He asked why, then looked down and proceeded to take a closer look, going "Ooh right! What happened there then!?"

And there I was with my pants down, being gawked at by a nosy urologist and having to explain myself. I don't know, it really made me feel miserable.

You never have to explain yourself. You can just say you'd rather not talk about it, "it's secret", "mind your business" or "i could tell you, but then i'd have to kill you". You could also just give the silent treatment. It's your choice. You have the information and are in full control.

I didn't reply. I looked down at him for a few seconds, he realized he was out of line and proceeded with the order of business. I just didn't want to have to deal with this. It's annoying enough when randos are being intrusive in mundate sitations, but it's worse when it comes from a MD who should know better and you're not exactly in a dignified position to begin with.
