@yogthos Indeed! I have always tried to use open source everything and loathed TikTok for the harmful design and addictive nature, maybe security risk, etc.

While those are all legitimate concerns, clearly that was not our government’s priority. It was to silence the protected free speech, growing class consiousness, and to stunt our ability to organize.

Because I care about that more than my privacy, I signed up to see. Sure enough, TikTok is for rebels and Rednote is truly beautiful

Exactly, open platforms should be the basis for social media and these forums should be publicly owned ideally. That's a long term goal that's still very much work in progress. In the mean time we shouldn't discard the tools that are currently available to us.
