Hey Community, I found this https://home-assistant-guide.com/guide/ online and my idea is to root a used Roborocks S5 with Valetudo and integrate it into HA… I was wondering if any of you have recommendations for good and „data friendly“ vacuum-robots to integrate into HA or experience with Valetudo https://valetudo.cloud/ that they might want to share?

I think you have the best on there from what I've read. The S5 seems like it's the last one to be easy to integrate without their bullshit apps.

is your goal to integrate without going through the roborock cloud? There's a very well maintained list of vacuums in the Valetudo site. I can't speak for myself because I just use the roborock integration.

Yes that is my goal. As I understood there is also no downside when you „root“ the device with Valetudo as it sits on top of the operating system and the vacuum still offers all features as it would with the stock os/roborock cloud connection. Can you confirm this?
