I'm curious to hear what others are #SelfHosting! Here's my current setup:

Hardware & OS

Infrastructure & Networking

Security & Monitoring

Authentication & Identity Management

  • Authelia (Docker): Just set this up for two-factor authentication and single sign-on. Seems to be working well so far!

  • LLDAP (Docker): Lightweight LDAP server for managing authentication. Also seems to be working pretty well!
    #AuthenticationTools #IdentityManagement

Productivity & Personal Tools

Notifications & Development Workflow

  • Notifications via: #Ntfy (Docker) and Zoho's ZeptoMail (#Zoho)
  • Development Environment: Mostly using VSCode connected to my server via Remote-SSH extension. #VSCodeRemote

Accessibility Focus ♿️🖥️

Accessibility heavily influences my choices—I use a screen reader full-time (#ScreenReader), so I prioritize services usable without sight (#InclusiveDesign#DigitalAccessibility). Always open to discussing accessibility experiences or recommendations!

I've also experimented with:

  • Ollama (#Ollama): Not enough RAM on my Pi.
  • Habit trackers like Beaver Habit Tracker (#HabitTracking): Accessibility issues made it unusable for me.

I don't really have a media collection, so no Plex or Jellyfin here (#MediaServer)—but I'm always open to suggestions! I've gotten a bit addicted to exploring new self-hosted services! 😄

What's your setup like? Any cool services you'd recommend I try?

Just a headless raspberry pi 4 with an external hdd that hosts a nextcloud instance, a website and jellyfin. Cloudflare tunnel because a static ip is too expensive and cloudflare for the domain, apache for the server. I have no background on anything computer related and am thus very proud of my achievement 😛. Also, no backup solution yet since I had no time to set it up but am working on it right now.

I have an rpi3b+ with inn2 newsserver (connected out via uucp), postfix, ngircd, thelounge, and a few other things

I also have a vps (dooes that count as self-hosted?) with a similar setup (can't get uucp to work yet), but also znc and bitlbee

I also had a pihole/unbound dns server, but that one died a while ago

Just recently set up isponsorblocktv in docker. Works beautifully for muting and pressing skip on youtube ads on lan connected smart tvs.

I had for the longest time my old HP gaming pavilion 690 that hosted Proxmox and a ton of other services, Home Assistant and managed a lot myself.

Since the first day I am on board with cosmos-cloud.io, and when the standalone version dropped. I put it on baremetal on a HP elitedesk G9 they discarded from work. So free Homelab server with an intel 12th gen CPU which is just.. robust. 2nvme's and a 4Tb drive suits me just fine for Arr stack, Nextcloud, Home Assistant and some other tidbits.
