To find and subscribe to new communities is still quite annoying, or is it just me? Trying to find this community from Lemmy.nz but can't find it. https://lemmy.world/c/parenting

When I construct this URL myself I get an error https://lemmy.nz/c/parenting@lemmy.world

It doesn't appear in the search, only one from Lemmy.ml

It shows up for me, but looks like we have no subscribers. So you are probably the first to search for it, and therefore it normally returns no results and adds the community to a background federation job. In the past this normally only took a few seconds, and a second search would pick it up. However, it relies on Lemmy.world being up in order to federate, and they have had a lot of downtime recently, so it may have been bad timing.

I've subscribed now, so it should start federating (requires at least one subscriber for our instance to receive updates), and you should be able to find it as well. Your link to https://lemmy.nz/c/parenting@lemmy.world works fine now.

Not just you, it's still very annoying.

Thanks! I can see it now too.

Yeah, this is definitely something that lemmy should improve.
