Full time thoughts: Rice looked good again even before the goal, Havertz worked hard off the ball but was very poor in possession/transition, Saka should have scored and I think the defense overall dealt with the counterattacks well but Saliba stood out as per usual
Viera and Tomiyasu looked good when coming on as well, I thought Jesus looked off the pace still before his superbly taken goal so he put me in my place

That's a fair assessment, though I think he did well at stopping their attacks again. Need more from him though.

Rice calls for the ball at the back post. He's open, and Johnny Evan and Harry Maguire are bad at football, so they don't notice. Saka sees it and hits it straight at Rice.

Who would've thought that our attack would lose it's fluidity because of the lack of Xhaka of all people, a former CDM.
I think that’s a big reason for Havertz’s slowish start — it’s a difficult role to play for someone who hasn’t really been playing in midfield for a few seasons now. We may have to be a little patient with him. Also, ESR and Vieira would be more familiar so we could let Havertz get used to it while he rotates with them.
