Oops, just realized there's a game on πŸ€β€‹

Nice to see Ramsdale get a Champions League game.

@9point6

It's bait. Criticizing Arsenal will get a lot more views and engagement.

Compare to Jonathan Wilson in the Guardian:

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/nov/27/arsenal-premier-league-title

"perhaps the greatest reason for Arsenal to feel optimistic is that last season it felt they had to play at their maximum just to stay in the race; this season, they are top of the table with a sense of more to come."

Similarly, the Arsenal Vision pod pointed out that facing more low blocks forces us to play in a less fluid/exciting way.

BBC - Arsenal's Lia Walti says club have 'built something huge with fans'

Love to see it:

"We've had every away game sold out so far this season I think which shows how much the club is doing all the right things to help the women's game grow"

Arseblog - an in-depth look at Arsenal Women's lack of ethnic diversity

This is a good long read on the issues around diversity in Women's football in England, and puts the recent furor over the Arsenal squad photo in context. I am once again in awe of Alex Scott for how she's managed to thrive in spite of the barriers she's had to push past.

Catsenal - "unpredictable tactics vs Sheffield Utd"

Another good breakdown by the animated cat on the tactics employed by Arsenal last week.

Detailed as always, so slowing down playback might be a good idea.

7amkickoff's blog on the latest PGMOL fiasco is good:

https://7amkickoff.com/index.php/2023/11/05/attwell-and-madley-incompetence-and-cowardice-award-newcastle-three-points-at-arsenals-expense/

"The on-field official Stuart Attwell was dropped from the Premier League select group of officials in 2012. He was dropped because he’d made a string of high profile mistakes, which included losing control of several games and making some wild decisions"

Emma Hayes leaving Chelski at the end of the season. That should shake up the WSL

Analysis: Why have Arsenal Women struggled against deep defensive blocks this season?

From Tim Stillman: "The technical instability at centre-half and number 10 has made Arsenal less convincing in the exact area opposing defences have clogged up and targeted. This has meant a high number of crosses, with Arsenal averaging 35.3 per game so far this season, compared to 24.4 last season."

Guardian - Aaron Ramsdale - "I am suffering and hurting"

I do feel bad for him, and hope he gets to play a Champions League game at the very least.

It's noticeable how many more staff #arsenal have. They had to break out the folding seats as the bench doesn't have room for all of them πŸ˜‚β€‹

[-] thatdosbox@mstdn.ca 6 points 11 months ago

@I_am_the_grass I hope so. We could then claim that Utd are just a feeder club for Arsenal πŸ˜‰β€‹

Always enjoy listening to Clive & Tim on the ArsenalVision pod. They made good points about fans getting on players backs before they've had a chance to find their feet - see Vieira. Going to need some patience with Havertz too, especially given how experimental our structure is at the moment.

Just in time for the "most expensive signing under Arteta" to still be correct 😏

@Astrealix latest ArsenalVision pod posed an interesting question.

Which player who we wanted to stay, but left, would still be universally welcome back at the club (not necessarily as a player)?

For me, Santi would be an automatic choice.
