Yes, but Trump is afraid of you. He'll find every petty way to get you back.

Nobody fears Trump, he's just a fat, aging and delusional buffoon who only shouts and lies like it is his second nature behind breathing.

My partner is a refugee. An immigration law office told us we don't need to be afraid. I'm still afraid. We're not participating in protests to protect her.

We're not participating in protests to protect her.

This is 100% the correct choice. I know it’s hard to hang back when this affects you both so seriously, but it’s more important to protect yourselves right now.

Eh, I'm not sure I'd call it so unambiguously correct. Is it understandable, certainly, but this is fear he wants us to have so that people don't fight back. This is what the part about complying in advance is all about. Things won't get better if everyone or most people cower before he acts

He wants people to not act so that he can bulldoze through. We need people to be brave and to stand up against fear. Fear is contagious - just as courage is

This is classic Prisoner's Dilemma. The best outcome is for everybody to rise up together in protest, but the individual incentive is to keep one's head down. Neither choice is unambiguously correct, which is what makes game theory so interesting.

It needs to become more important than breathing for him. I need him to forget to breath for at least an hour (not taking any chances).
