Probably alot of people do this. I try and think of the worst possible outcomes a situation might lead to. The reasoning is that it must become less likely then. What are the odds that this exact thing that I just thought about comes true?

When something appears to have possibly started going in the direction that I want it to, I make sure not to be talking about that potentiality with other people as that always seems to ensure that it will not come to pass.

I can't let other people know how i would count my chickens before they hatch or something like that.
