To each their own, naturally. I usually eat stuff that’s not super crunchy and I also watch with subtitles since I have difficulty processing spoken language anyway lol

Because it’s near you

Was socialized/seen as a girl growing up but got Dx’d like three different times in childhood and got prescribed meds exactly zero times because ??? They seemed to think it was just something I could “get over.” I was still expected to be the A+ overachieving student even though I openly resisted.

I think part of it may be socialization but it doesn’t always fall across gendered lines. Some folks who are quieter/more anxious/more prone to people pleasing will fall into that masking category. It also probably comes down to people who have parents with unfairly high expectations of their children.

Outside of getting meds my methods of coping are mostly paring down what my commitments are and forcing myself to give myself grace when I’m not perfect.

“Reasonable accommodations” apply to both workplace/school AND at home. What works for you also will probably change, a lot. That’s part of having ADHD unfortunately.

  • High pitched brass/string instruments

  • Corrugated cardboard rubbing against itself

  • Dull non-mechanical pencils on paper

  • Machine guns/explosions (war-heavy video games come to mind)

  • Ads. I can’t explain it but just ads, period.

That’s off top of my head but I could probably come up with 20 more lol

Adventure Time (10 seasons though). Perfect lil 10 min. episodes to accompany a meal too.

Only on milk. Learned that one the hard way.

Refrigerated meat (namely poultry, don’t do red meat so idk) also mostly gets tossed after the one week mark but I have a weaker immune system. Although, living in the US I don’t like eating too much meat for that same reason.

Dry goods are fine unless there’s mold or bugs.

Everything else gets the sniff test, or only goes if there’s visible mold. ¯\(ツ)

It’s okay we still have theoretical physics

“May” but reading the article, unlikely.

Microslop pulling from Steam is likely to effectively kill or close to kill their gaming division. They’ve already trained their players to be on PC with game pass and if those players want to own one of those games they’re most likely going to buy it on Steam.

Not sure another full XBox console release is going to go well for them anyhow.

Message is good but the illustration has slop vibes unfortunately

However she prefers. Girlfriends do need to stay hydrated, like all members of the subclass partnerus romanticus

I am exactly pragmatic enough to know that I am not truly pragmatic.

For personal, trivial things when I have something I like I will keep it that way until it falls apart or becomes ridiculously outmoded. I do not pretend there is logic to them.

I tend to like the simplest things for daily use objects but that’s not “pragmatism,” it’s preference. Even when something nicer is available, lol. I waited until my phone was freezing when opening a calculator AND it would no longer charge to upgrade it, even though it was likely justified a year and a half before that.

I'm updated through the AUR, and said update pushed just a few hours ago.

My default search engine (a custom Searx instance) keeps being overridden to DuckDuckGo when I reopen my browser. I deleted the line in the about:config about 5 times now, to no avail. Anyone else having this problem?

Lightly edited to fit comm rules

Alt textTwo photo cut-outs of opossums, each with a pair of scissors photoshopped to look like they’re being held by said opossums. Orange text is overlaid onto a pink-and-yellow background that says “Screw the government: run with scissors.”

Found on Pinterest, source seems to be “The Anxious Opossum” on Facebook.

Mildly edited for salty language
