I picked up some cheap wifi cameras on sale. They're battery powered ones with IR, internal memory and solar panels for $40.

The issue is the baked in cloud backup is a service. I need to finally setup Homeassistant to hope I can offload to a NAS or cloud on my own vs $5/camera. I want to own my videos.

The Zat was extremely inconsistent in the show. Some people would get completely immobilized and knocked out when others would just flinch. Most commonly a single zat to a Jaffa would knock them out but often O'Neill would get up 5 seconds after a zat. It depends on the plot of the episode.

I just overlook it and enjoy the show.

In a game it would be good to make the zat have a fire delay and make a target inequip/drop weapon and freeze. Could even add a fire gap so its hard to use repeatitively.

Don't forget that shotguns are incredibly more lethal IRL but they nerf them in video games for balance.

AI is encouraged at work but not enforced.

Managers don't talk about forcing its use at all here.

I think in two months the one time it was mentioned in a meeting was someone putting company info into a public AI instead of the secure self hosted one. That was idiotic of them especially considering our proxy is setup to display a splash page warning with company policy before continuing to public LMM services.

It's a perfect stance for a company. There's no token tracking, incentive or demerit for the use of AI. Just announcements on proper use and providing secure resources. They want to protect IP (Intellectual Property).

That said I tried using it to code as a accelerator. Claude did the job but it's not consistent. I had to go back and debug some code and there's no consistency in it's coding sections. It's hard to read through and therefore hard to maintain.

I resorted to providing example code for it to follow and it still adds extra bullshit.

Maybe I need to get better at prompting but it's really just faster to code myself.

Is there a way to filter steam games by engine?

Closer and closer to slaughter bots...

I mean a easier and sinister solution would be to unplug two computers and patch the two ports together. Broadcast storm.

I believe it was multiple threads...

I wanted to install solar when I bought my home.

The home I ended up getting had a beautiful oak tree probably several hundred years old. Which is directly blocking most of my roof on a small lot.

Not much sun to be had.

Could you install them on land instead of the roof?

They need to bring back home ec (economics).

Basic cooking, nutrition and finance. How taxes work, voting, credit, bills and even dealing with cops (be respectful, no sudden movements, know your rights, shut the fuck up).

How to adult for kids who don't get taught at home.

When my cousin learned about Ping at school in the 2000s he setup ping gateway -t on all the computers in his highschool class.

Took down the school network for the day. He didn't get in trouble I think. Just a laugh from the school admin (they knew each other and he volunteered there). Admin blocked ping after that.

Just sharing some wholesome gaming. Taking a vacation soon and planning to game like I'm a teenager again.

Starting to watch local markets.

This one feels like a scam or stolen at $175 even if all the batteries are shot.

I needed two similar pieces of wood to prevent my sofa from banging against the wall and damaging it.

Cut the pieces and it was ugly and misshapen. Have a hand pane so I shaved off the jagged bits.

Miter boxes don't help when you can't keep a saw steady.

Just bought my first home and still unpacking.

The list of things to fix is ever growing. The bathroom vanity latch is the first one the list!

We're hoping to renovate but in the meantime one door won't open (latch) and two mirrors shake when you open them.

Latch is an easy fix. Got parts locally. Replaced the broken one. Wife loves the loud strong click. Wants them all upgraded. Good thing I bought upgrades too. So they're all new now. Shame they're not tan but the click is good.

The mirrors are peeling off the wood. Uninstalled, glued and reinstalled.

Glued them up, put weight on it overnight to cure. Cardboard under the mirrors to protect them. Wood to direct pressure and tools to weigh it down.

I found a squeaky door so I got the oil and fixed it... Then did every door I could before my wife caught me.

Am I alone here? It's so satisfying to just glide open!

Edit: She followed up with: "you're enjoying yourself too much"
Damn straight I am. It's the little things you have to enjoy!

I borrowed some landscaping tools from my brother in law and he offered his old air compressor since he doesn't use it. Broken tube. Easy normal part to replace.

Got a air compressor accessories kit on the way home. Replaced the hose and tip. Plugged it in outside. Left it for 10 minutes...

Never turned off. Hmm. Might be one of those that have a release valve and not auto shutoff.

20 PSI? That's odd. Unplugged it. Hissing...
Air coming out the bottom. Maybe a puncture?

Found the spot. Got 80 grit sandpaper and 3300 PSI rated epoxy. Sanded and found rust.

Patched it and my spidey sense went off while looking at the epoxy...

Did a search:

A leaking air compressor tank—especially with a leak on the bottom where corrosion is likely—can be extremely dangerous, even if "repaired" with epoxy or other sealants. The primary risk is catastrophic rupture under pressure. If the integrity of the tank is compromised (for example, by internal rust or a patched-up hole), the tank can explode with explosive force, launching shrapnel and causing severe injury or death, as well as property damage

When tanks rupture, the velocity of air and shrapnel can be lethal. For example, a 60-gallon tank at 150 PSI can explode violently, creating 680 mph air blasts and extremely loud noise, both of which are highly hazardous for bystanders

Nope! Tossing it!
Dodged a nearly literal bullet there.
