When remaking Morrowind, it would be really difficult to decide which bugs and annoyances to fix and which to leave in, cause they're essential to the Morrowind experience.
Like, do you remove the constant onslaught of Cliff Racers? Or the second Mages Guild quest where you can just steal hundreds of thousands of gold worth of soul gems without risk in the starting location, completely breaking the game?

its a single player game . let people cheat themselves if they want to

I would keep the cliff racers. I don't even consider this to be a bug.

The mages guild quest issue is a bug.

There was I mod that stopped then from respawning, but it increased the number of cliff racers initially. I would hunt them to extinction.

I'm still pissed openmw fixed the soultrap glitch.

It's already being remastered and it's called OpenMW

Or stop remaking shit and actually work on ES VI.

Seriously. Stop rewarding lazy development. Stop re buying the same shit that's been available to play for decades

Oblivion Remastered was done by an entirely different team, in France. It did not take away from ES6 development. Remakes are easy because the content is already there.

There's a limited number of developers and development funds for games in the world. Allocating ANY to this remaster/reboot/rerelease bullshit that is PLAUGING the industry right now, means fewer new games are being made.

The remake is great. People love it. You're a curmudgeon.

[–] Bronzebeard@lemm.ee -1 points 1 week ago

Yes, I'm sure people love playing the game they already owned and loved the first time. My issue is their idiotic willingness to keep shelling out money for something they've already played, Incentivizing the industry to NOT MAKE NEW GAMES.

It's not curmudgeonly to hate the fact that AAA games have been in this remake rut for years now with fuck all interesting games coming out. Indie is the only space with anything Interesting at all happening.

Honestly would adore that

[–] Demdaru@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago

Noooonononono. They would have to change so much for today's audience to like it ;-;
