I agree, cyclists and scooter-ists shouldn’t be using sidewalks. In fact they should share the space with cyclists on protected lane! (And to whomever it may concern runners, joggers please stay the sidewalks!)
micromobility - Bikes, scooters, boards: Whatever floats your goat, this is micromobility
Ebikes, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, longboards, eboards, motorcycles, skates, unicycles, heelies, or an office chair: Whatever floats your goat, this is all things micromobility!
"Transportation using lightweight vehicles such as bicycles or scooters, especially electric ones that may be borrowed as part of a self-service rental program in which people rent vehicles for short-term use within a town or city.
micromobility is seen as a potential solution to moving people more efficiently around cities"

It's a little sad that we need to actually say this, but:
Don't be an asshole or you will be permanently banned.
Respectful debate is totally OK, criticizing a product is fine, but being verbally abusive will not be tolerated.
Focus on discussing the idea, not attacking the person.
Ideally space would be provided for all. Something I think we can agree on is that no pedestrian, cyclist, scooter rider, etc. is going to fare well against a lifted pickup at 40mph and the biggest divide is between cars and vulnerable road users. I've biked in downtown Denver. There is some good infrastructure, but there's also a lot of sketchiness, especially the further out you go. Until the road feels safe, people will use the sidewalk.
Exactly! And i'm glad the story has this stated clearly: “The reason scooters are riding on the sidewalks is because they don’t feel safe on the streets.”
Aaaaaaaaaa!
I hope Denver beefs up their protected bike lane infrastructure significantly.
In my experience, people DGAF about warnings, but will stay off sidewalks if there are safer options. Keep bikes/scooters out of sidewalks, peds and joggers out of bike lanes, and cars out of business/bike/ped areas, which should be at least 30% of your city.
Have they considered instead giving them a safe area to ride that's not the sidewalk? Of course not lol
