Update:

"Idol" / YOASOBI (Oshi no Ko) won Top Global Hit from Japan, 1 of the main awards. It also won Song of the Year for Creators so totally 4 awards.

"Bling-Bang-Bang-Born" / Creepy Nuts (Mashle) won the main award Song of the Year, bringing up its total to 8. Creepy Nuts also won Best Japanese Hip Hop/Rap Artist.

"Lilac" / Mrs. GREEN APPLE (Oblivion Battery) won Karaoke of the Year: J-Pop with Mrs. GREEN APPLE winning the main award Artist of the Year.

more than words / Hitsujibungaku (Jujutsu Kaisen) won Best Japanese Alternative Song with Hitsujibungaku additionally winning Best Japanese Alternative Artist.

The Oshi no Ko song also won Best Music Video, and is nominated for 2 of the main awards (Song of the Year and Top Global Hit from Japan) while YOASOBI is nominated for Artist of the Year.

Creepy Nuts / "Bling-Bang-Bang-Born" (Mashle) won 7 subcategories, and are nominated for Artist of the Year / Song of the Year respectively.

The 6 main awards (Song of the Year, Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Top Global Hit from Japan, Best Song Asia) will be announced tomorrow (22nd May).

For those interested, tomorrow's ceremony will be streamed on Youtube from 19:30 JST.

The 2025 Music Awards Japan, part of the Music Awards Japan series, is the inaugural award ceremony to be held at Rohm Theatre in Kyoto on May 21–22, 2025. It is organized by the Japan Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association (CEIPA), an organization founded by five major Japanese music associations.

We will be conducting a rigorous voting process with over 5,000 voting members, consisting of music industry professionals from various fields, including artists, creators, recording company employees, promoters, music publishers, overseas music award judges.
Nominees and winners will be decided and awarded through strict voting by these members.
