Accepting the plane, Pence said in an interview with Meet the Press, “is inconsistent with our security, with our intelligence needs. And my hope is the president reconsiders it.”

Just another example of how our Constitution has been re-purposed for a felon rapist to wipe his ass with.

But seriously. Our Constitution is null and void at this point and nothing is being done about that. I guess Americans just aren't ready to accept that fact yet.

And the downward spiral continues.

Wasn't the constitution intended to be rewritten every X years to keep up with modern society, I seem to remember having read that in the past...

It wasn't "intended to be rewritten," but it was meant to be changed.

Your wording makes it seem like we should scrap the whole thing and start from scratch after X years.

Instead, we should be making amendments to the constitution, such as "no citizen shall possess more than Y amount in assets while children go hungry. Any excessive assets will be seized immediately and redistributed to those most in need."

is inconsistent with our security

Seems pretty in line with the Trump administration's security. It's not good security, but it is consistent.

Which is not a power the Pentagon has in our constitution.

It's coming with free surveillance! For an adversary.

And of course is entirely, completely, factually against the US constitution. But hey that hasn't stopped this administration yet...

It is made by Boeing, anyone can verify whether it is bugged or not, and Qatar isn't an adversary. It has a population of 3.6 million, only 19% are citizens, and one of the US's largest military bases in the region.

Anyone cannot verify if every single inch of the plane is bug free. Just because the frame is Boeing isn’t the only factor.

And Qatar has close connections with US adversaries such as Iran.

If connections with Iran makes a country an adversary what does that say about the EU? Qatar has relations with Iran because of geographical necessity and due to the Saudi-led Arab embargo which cut off food exports to Qatar forcing them to trade more with Iran.

I look forward to the espionage documentary about this

[–] FistingEnthusiast@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I look forward to it blowing up while he's on it

[–] PanArab@lemm.ee -1 points 1 week ago

The door might, but otherwise not much will blow up. It is not a 787 so it doesn't have fuel cells.

[–] PanArab@lemm.ee -2 points 1 week ago

Qatar isn't known for espionage, and the plane is made by Boeing anyways.

[–] gradual@lemmings.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

How does this benefit American citizens?

[–] PanArab@lemm.ee -4 points 1 week ago

Jobs for Boeing and a new presidential plane not paid for with your tax dollars?

[–] pineapplelover@lemm.ee 2 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

So what will happen with the billions we have already spent ordering 2 air force ones from Boeing?

This shit will cost us so much money cause now we have to do a complete overhaul of this new plane.

Some fucking numskull behavior if you ask me

Reading the comments, I'm reminded that whether an Arab country is allied to the US or not, whether it is even subservient to the US or not, matters not. Arab countries will always be seen as adversaries and nefarious.
