Good. Hopefully more Subways do the same and shutter permanently. Subway's business model of sticking a store in every single place they can find and making local franchisees compete with and cannibalize each other has been ruining people's lives for decades. It's intentionally designed to fail, because they know there is a revolving door of desperate people who will sign their savings away for the chance at becoming a "business owner". The franchisee loses everything, and Subway still comes out ahead as they repo your store and sell it back to the next victim.

We don't need a thousand shitty Subways on every street corner. Do fewer, higher-quality stores and you'll make enough to pay your employees enough that they don't need to quit en masse.

Well, if 1000 subways employ 10 people each that’s 10000 people working. But if 100 high quality places hire 20 people that’s only 2000 people.

I’m not rooting for minimum wage or anything but fewer jobs is bad.

If they don't pay you enough to begin with, you're gonna need more than one of those minimum wage jobs to survive.
