Come over to PieFed, fairly certain all the major instances have launched parallel PieFed instances. There's PieFed.world and PieFed.blahaj.zone off the top of my head

Real blocking, faster development, third-party apps like Boost are now adopting support and no toxic political string attached

Democrats hope to recruit Governor Janet Mills to challenge the powerful Republican senator, but an oyster farmer with a working man’s pitch thinks he has a better chance.

Enter Graham Platner, a 40-year-old oyster farmer and former Marine who served three tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan, and is set on Tuesday to announce a long-shot challenge to Ms. Collins, with a campaign focused on making life better for his state’s working class.

A competitive pistol shooter who worked as a bartender at the Tune Inn on Capitol Hill while attending George Washington University on the G.I. Bill, he said that “everyone knows we live in a system that is not built to represent working-class people.”

Mr. Platner said he had been approached in the past to run for local office, and had always turned it down. But when a group of labor unions focused on climate issues reached out to him about running for Senate, Mr. Platner found himself open to the idea.

Do you know how little that narrows it down

Metal won’t work because wireless charging is expected for most phones

It's not an impossible problem to solve, Qi just doesn't care. Qualcomm solved it with their wireless charging standard 10 years ago

Leaves glass and plastic, which are both found on premium phones.

I don't think I've seen a "premium" phone with a plastic back in a LONG time

it feels and looks nicer than plastic and doesn’t scratch as easily

There's a wide range of plastics, it gets a bad rap because of the cheap shit that's often used, but there's absolutely a "high end" plastic side of the scale that can beat glass and not nearly as fragile

Taking into account manufacturers somehow decided that glass, a very fragile material ESPECIALLY when thin, should be the ✨premium✨ material and all decent phones NEED to be wrapped in it....

Maybe there's some truth to that lmao

lmao what did you just say about Hexbear, lib? 💀 I’ll have you know I’m a tier-5 giga-brained poster with a PhD in Leninist praxis from the University of Posters, and I have 300+ confirmed dunks on Lemmy.ml sockpuppets. I was radicalized in the trenches of r/ChapoTrapHouse, forged in the fires of permabans, and tempered in the meme wars of 2019. You are literally nothing to me but another bootlicker running on 80% State Dept. talking points and 20% soy. I will ratio you so hard your precious little upvote count will never recover. You think you can just roll up in here, talk shit about Hexbear, and not get absolutely obliterated by dialectical praxis in 4K? Think again, bucko. As we speak, my cadre of Discord tankies are screen-capping your posts, cross-referencing them with your cringe comment history, and drafting a 12-point rebuttal with citations from Stalin, Mao, and that one screenshot of Bernie saying ‘chill with the anti-communism.’ The storm that’s coming for you is called material conditions, and guess what? They’re not in your favor. I’ve got Lenin’s collected works and a folder full of spicy memes, and I’m not afraid to deploy both. You’re already owned, kid. You just don’t know it yet. Now go touch grass, comrade, before I drop another 3k-word comment that makes you cry and log off.

No, but that's just criticism or condemnation of specific actions taken by a certain military, which should always be done.

But condemning a country just for having a military is what's silly

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 7 points 11 months ago (3 children)

While its true in an ideal world there would be no militaries and no war

Unfortunately, we do not live in that world, any country that doesn't have a, or is under the protection of another's, military will be taken advantage of sooner or later.

There are many hostile countries in this world

So far, OpenAI, anthropic et al hasn't sued anyone over it, but they have cut account access when it's discovered to be used for that purpose

It's how early versions of deepseek were trained iirc, it's called distillation
