Yup. I think it was after he gave her the goblet which signified a proposal for her.
The powerful Magic Stone was the proposal, iirc. She saw the goblet as doubling-down. I forget what the third item, which has ultimately sealed his fate as the future father of who-knows-how-many half-demons, was.
He's definitely failed upwards in the realm of romance.
