Swiss and fucking everyone over getting in bed with authoritarian governments. You'd think the mountaincunts had money left over from the gold they pulled from the mouths of victims of the holocaust.

[–] PugJesus@kbin.social 130 points 2 years ago (3 children)

"Nazi gold reserve is running low, we'll need a new supplier. Who's running concentration camps these days?"

[–] alienanimals@lemmy.world 13 points 2 years ago

You have a way with words. Well done.

African gold it's not bloody enough, the misery and suffering adds to the value

[–] TheBat@lemmy.world 107 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The Swiss make chocolate because they don't want us to associate them with blood diamonds and Nazi gold.

The Western World: the Chinese government is a dangerous authoritarian government

Also the Western World: we should do billions and billions of dollars worth of trade with China.

Switzerland is a nation of assholes

[–] PugJesus@kbin.social 63 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I've never met any Swiss, but their government sure is dogshit on the international stage at doing anything except protecting the ultra-wealthy.

[–] Widowmaker_Best_Girl@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Their government comes from the people though. People raised in Swiss homes, were educated in Swiss schools, and worked in Swiss businesses. It's fair to say that the government is representative of the people.

[–] YashaB@lemmy.world 39 points 2 years ago (1 children)

As much as Trump is representativ for americans.

[–] railsdev@programming.dev 13 points 2 years ago

Am American and anti-Trump but really I can’t find any fault in this logic

[–] beatlepus@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

It’s fair to say that the government is representative of the people, which are assholes. ASS HOLES.

[–] Globulart@lemmy.world 1 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

There's more racism here than I expected. Why so much hate?

Assuming you're a usalander, wouldn't you be pissed off if everyone assumed you were representative of your government? One of the most fucked up governments in the western world....

[–] awwwyissss@lemm.ee 21 points 2 years ago

Not all of them, but they have some dark, greedy shit going on that's obviously systemic.

[–] archiotterpup@lemmy.world 21 points 2 years ago (2 children)

What's good for business is good for Switzerland.

[–] PugJesus@kbin.social 7 points 2 years ago

"Everyone has a share. What's good for the company is good for all!"

[–] YashaB@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

That appears to be our main goal concerning international relations I'm afraid.

Were they dumb enough to believe the "Taiwan is China" -lie?

[–] PugJesus@kbin.social 80 points 2 years ago

"It says 'Return to the Republic of China', so I guess that's China." - some very confused mailman

More realistically speaking, it was sent to China for repairs... so it was probably just the Swiss company trying to cheap out on labor costs in the most horrendous way imaginable for Taiwanese national security.

[–] MossyFeathers@pawb.social 18 points 2 years ago (3 children)

No, they probably just don't give a shit or received some cash under the table. Do you really think Switzerland, a country known for being """neutral""" in the face of fascism and genocide, profiting off scams and white-collar crime committed in other countries, allowing Hitler to stash stolen Jewish gold and then ~~stealing~~ losing it after the Reich collapsed, and giving birth to the crime against humanity known as Nestle, would give a fuck about something as insignificant as allowing a sovereign nation's military technology fall into the hands of their imperialist next door neighbor?

[–] tryptaminev@feddit.de 17 points 2 years ago

You forgot running the finances of terrorist organizations, and fascist genocidal dictators.

[–] awwwyissss@lemm.ee 8 points 2 years ago

~~Stealing Losing~~ Hiding

[–] YashaB@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

You must live in an very dark place.

The whole western industry is doing business with China, sustaining us in our comfortable lives.

I don't know the exact context, but I guess it was just stupidity combined with business as usual.

[–] Aqarius@lemmy.world 9 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Better go call up the Republic of China and tell them they're not China, then. I'm sure they'll be understanding.
