Sure... giving a private corp billions to invest into the general population will surely work this time... Fuck private ISPs, invest into local public utilities or co-ops.

Ha. They thought about it. Federal laws forbid it in many cases. Everything is fucked by design.

I don't think federal government can ban local municipal ISPs. I know some states do, though.
