Star Trek
Welcome to a Star Trek community where you’re free to chat and share your opinions about all things Trek!
I want to have a place where fans can come to praise, discuss, and even criticise things in the Star Trek franchise. No show or movie is perfect, and I don't believe people should be silenced for having a dissenting opinion. That being said, there are still a few rules.
Be Nice - No personal attacks. You can disagree with someone's opinion, but it needs to stop there.
No Slurs - This is applicable to ethnicity, religion, gender, or anything else.
No Adult Content - Keep it family friendly.
No Spamming or Trolling - Consistently spamming comments or trolling is just not needed.
Please keep topics Trek related or Trek adjacent for the most part, and have fun!
Nice! I think most people are using LD so far. I've also seen LDS used, which is much funnier! (If you've seen Star Trek 4 that is!)
Back in the 60s he was part of a free speech movement at Berkeley.
LD, no?
Sorry... Intoxicated
I finished up watching SNW again, and my spouse and I have been watching random TOS episodes recently. Dagger of the Mind was a memorable one this week.
I have been debating on showing my wife the Pike episodes of TOS so she understands his visions in SNW or letting it all be a surprise for her.
Hmm, not sure what would be best there. It might depend on the amount of older TV she watches normally, I know there's a lot of people that can't look past some of the dated aspects of older shows. If you're planning on watching all of TOS at some point, I would lean toward letting it be a surprise. That's just me though!
mostly old star trek videos on youtube, nutrek is not very good comparetively.
Watched a few episodes of lower decks
TOS - The Enemy Within.
Transporter error separates Kirk's personality into two, naughty and nice. Cue Shatner (and mood lighting) dialled up to 11.
That one is a good one! I always liked how TOS would explore concepts like this.
Yeah, I noted it was renowned scifi author Richard Matheson who wrote it.
That's interesting, his Twilight Zone episodes are where I'm most familiar with his work. I'm guessing I've also read some of his writing too, I'm just not recalling whether I've actually read them or just heard about them!
