Rules:

  1. All DubVee instance rules apply. See the sidebar at https://dubvee.org/. Those are pretty comprehensive, so we don't really need to add much to those.
  2. No politics outside of what's referenced on the show. Let's leave that drama elsewhere since there's plenty of it.
  3. All posts must be 30 Rock related or adjacent. You dummies are awesome, so I don't think I've ever had to mod any posts for this, but codifying it for good measure.
  4. Less a rule and more of a guideline, but please try to provide alt text if your instance + client combination support it. If not, then please try to make an effort to provide a description of any image posts in the post body.
  5. Don't make fun of people for misusing dated cultural references. Are we all cowabunga on this?
  6. No talking about Krang! It would be a waste of time to talk about Krang on ~~television~~ the internet!

A bit of sad news to report.

What many of you may not know is that the mod here, Jenny, is one of my oldest IRL friends. Earlier today I got a call from her husband letting me know that when he came home from work Saturday, he found her unresponsive. She has been in the ICU since then. She was awake and talking yesterday morning but is now in a medically induced coma (mostly due to secondary complications).

I'm intentionally skipping over the specifics, but suffice it to say she's got a fight ahead of her. Things were too hectic this evening to visit, but I'm hoping to go see her tomorrow or as soon as the situation stabilizes enough to allow for non-family visitors.

So please keep her and her family in your thoughts.

Thanks,

Patrick

I hope she makes a full recovery and I'll be keeping my thoughts with her 🩷

Best wishes and fingers crossed. It sounds terrifying.

Unrelated, but hopefully appreciated, this little corner of Lemmy has brought me a lot of joy.

Thank you, and she will be happy to hear that.

Jen randomly banned me from 30rock out of no where. I don't think I've commented in that comm in 6 months. Idk.

Point is, none of that matters. I hope she's ok, and I feel for her husband, and family and friends. I hope she pulls through soon and in good health.

Any update on Jenny’s condition?

As of early last week, she underwent a tracheotomy procedure (replacing the intubation tube from the ventilator) and was moved out of intensive care into a longer-term care facility. Before that, every time they tried to take her off of the sedatives, she would get agitated and uncomfortable because of being intubated and have to be re-sedated.

As of Sunday, she's now fully off the sedatives and has been awake and lucid which was a huge relief to hear. She's still weaning off of the ventilator, though, and there are a few other secondary complications remaining.

She's not out of the woods, but she's no longer hour-by-hour.

That’s scary, but I’m glad there’s been some improvement

Yep. Progress has been slow, but steady. We've got a group chat going with a bunch of her friends and family (her husband and sister take turns giving us updates), and she's got a lot of support.

I’m truly saddened to read this. Wishing you a speedy recovery, Jenny!
