I'll be watching my yearly staples but would love some new suggestions as well. We could all use a decent dark one as we exit this hellscape of a summer.

My yearly list:

  • Hellraiser (1987)
  • Psycho (1960)
  • The Guest (2014)
  • Rosemary's Baby (1968)
  • Tucker and Dale vs. Evil (2010)
  • Cabin in the Woods (2011)
  • It follows (2014)

These are the ones I almost always see over the next two months and I sprinkle in a lot of others from brand new to very old ones. Let's hear yours! (And we can talk about them too!)

I usually reserve spooky month for schlocky Sci-fi horror (pre 1980) and classic horror (universal monster movies) with reservations for specific movies like:
• chopping mall (1986)
• the thing (1982)
• the blob (1980)
• invasion of the body snatchers (1978, Donald sutherland)
• the Mist (2007, B/W)
• Army of Darkness
• alien
• aliens

I’m hearing nothing but amazing things about Talk To Me and it just hit streaming. I think I might save this one for the perfect night.

If you like slow burn I love love love The Invitation

Excellent ones. I do watch both of them regularly but maybe not every year. Been a while since I've seen The Shining though. That one is going on the list.

Nice! It's such a perfect "spooky season" movie, and most people don't know about it.
