Good. Great. Excellent news.

Firing big numbers of “potentially disloyal” soldiers is like rookie mistake #1 in the aspiring dictator’s handbook. It doesn’t mean they evaporate. They just start kicking around in civil society, pissed off at you, well trained and ready to be slotted into the ragtag resistance to give it instant legitimacy and expertise. Every single soldier is an instant force multiplier for any little grouping they’re affiliated with. They defuse all your propaganda about how the resistance is all weirdos and hippies who are crazy and will never amount to anything. In big groups, they can be the equal of “your” military, and all of a sudden, your dominant monopoly on effective violence has to compete in a free market again, and the equation is totally different.

So they all go home and join or form a totally legal local militia? People with direct knowledge of every bug and problem with every piece of equipment in the US military.
