Ye Power Trippin' Bastards

1366 readers
29 users here now

This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.

Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.

Posting Guidelines

All posts should follow this basic structure:

  1. Which mods/admins were being Power Tripping Bastards?
  2. What sanction did they impose (e.g. community ban, instance ban, removed comment)?
  3. Provide a screenshot of the relevant modlog entry (don’t de-obfuscate mod names).
  4. Provide a screenshot and explanation of the cause of the sanction (e.g. the post/comment that was removed, or got you banned).
  5. Explain why you think its unfair and how you would like the situation to be remedied.

Rules

Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.

Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.

YTPB matrix channel: For real-time discussions about bastards or to appeal mod actions in YPTB itself.

Rediculous. Rule 3 is be nice to each other but you didn't insult any other user

[–] outhouseperilous@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

Twist: bezos is the mod edit: still PTB

[–] eugenevdebs@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 6 days ago

Doesn't break rule 3, you weren't being mean to another user. PTB.

Needs context of the community or at least of the "Rule 3".

[–] TherapyGary@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I think from context we can gather that the removal was due to "advocating violence"

True, I think most of us here can agree with that. This is just a joke post though- OP knows they broke a stupid rule in a funny way, and came here to have a laugh about it

An admin even. The worst of all.

Im sorry, it's true. You can still kill nazis and sometimes be barefoot for no reason while doing it, though.

[–] Flatworm7591@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 5 days ago

I'm barefoot right now for no reason, so gonna mark this as 50% completed.

[–] atlas@sh.itjust.works 4 points 5 days ago (1 children)

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 5 days ago (1 children)

No, q is the mypillow guy.

No hes a .world mod.

[–] rumimevlevi@lemmings.world 5 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I am not the OP but the rule 3 is be nice to each other. Not only it is too vague but i don't think Jeff Bezos

[–] limer@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 6 days ago (2 children)

While I think the mod is just doing regular mod stuff; that is an overly broad rule to justify it.

I think one can argue that excellence to our fellow beings would be a revolution that burns all those houses down!

They need an anti insurrection rule on that community, to fit with their plain, vanilla, safe guidelines

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 6 days ago

They're far, far too cowardly to rephrase the rules or make new ones that are clear and explicit.

Just little tyrants, self-appointed thought police.

PTB. I feel like the benefit to humanity would be much nicer than one dude continuing to leech off the planet.

[–] RickyRigatoni@retrolemmy.com 3 points 5 days ago (1 children)

The man owns like 20 houses and you didn't specify the house he currently resides in so it's fine :3

Also it just got married. Its not at fucking home!

[–] AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works 6 points 6 days ago (2 children)

You not agreeing with the rules of the comm does not automatically translate to the mods power tripping.

[–] rumimevlevi@lemmings.world 5 points 6 days ago

The comment did not break rule 3

[–] TherapyGary@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 6 days ago

Power tripping = not agreeing with me
