It is beyond ludicrous that these things were ever privatised in the first place.
In Ireland they're watching the mess with the trains and water unfold for years, and their government are making moves to privatise their water and trains.

They’re letting the franchises expire because buying the operators out would be very expensive. That said, if any go bust in the meantime they will be brought back earlier
that's good, but fuck their support for genocide and criminalising protesting against genocide.
