A few months ago, I posted about a campaign for a Seattle resolution that would prevent the City from giving any money to Musk-owned companies, along with a corresponding petition.

So I thought I'd post an update. Since then, the campaign has gotten more than 1,100 petition signatures, met with two City of Seattle councilmembers, and got both of them on board to support the resolution! That support is in large part due to all those petition signatures demonstrating broad public support. Things are moving fast now, and folks are working on getting in front of the other councilmembers so they'll be primed when this thing comes to a vote.

Think Musk is out of politics? Think again. He just gave $15 million to Republican SuperPACs to influence midterm elections.

If you support the cause of fighting back against Musk, I encourage you sign the petition so the campaign can take even bigger numbers into those meetings. And if you're interested in finding out more or getting involved, there's a call tonight (August 4th) at 5:30 p.m. that you're welcome to join.

Great point! It's a pretty short ballot and even has a few councilmember positions to vote for.
