For the last year or so PieFed is the app/website I use by far the most on my phone. Second is maps app when I'm driving.

It's really cool that it's free software and I can run it on my own hardware totally independent of anyone.

Same here. I have very few icons on my home screen, and PieFed takes a spot.

I'm not sure what you mean. It's my own domain jeena.net and I put my instance on a subdomain piefed.jeena.net

I just found out I can treat PieFed as an app on android (via Firefox), but the bars at the top and bottom seem to be stuck in light mode even though the phone is in dark mode. Is there a solution?

This is why I had to make my own theme and add some HTML so it would become a full screen app.

The problem is iOS which doesn't have a back button, therefore it can't be default.
