I never played Hollow Knight but I hear that Silksong is substantially more difficult? What are the major differences?

One of the challenges I've noticed is they give you a huge chunk of rosaries hanging from the ceiling, then immediately afterward trap you in a boss room.

Hollow Knight rewards patience and learning. Most enemies and bosses have clear attack patterns. When you get hit, you'll usually have a safe zone or period where you can heal.

Except for Primal Aspids.

Silksong rewards having more patience and faster learning. A lot of the frustrating areas in Silksong actively deny you safe zones and periods. A lot of the frustrating enemies in Silksong will remind you of the Primal Aspids.

You take more damage sometimes, and the movement is a bit more complex. But I don't think it is more difficult than Hollow Knight, both are difficult games and its part of what makes them good to play.

Have to agree here. I feel less like the game is harder, more that I'm still adjusting to how Hornet feels. After getting two movement abilities/tools, I started having a much easier time getting into the flow of things, especially with combat.

Basically treat them like Soulsborne titles: Go in expecting a challenge, and take breaks when you're getting frustrated. Coming back with a clear, level head will do more to get you passed the blocks than continuously ramming into them headfirst.
