I love all the work Ben and Jerry have done over the years and think they should continue.. But the brand died the day they sold it to unilever. Them staying on with the company afterwards just showed their naïveté about the whole situation. Glad they (or maybe just the one?) are bailing as hopefully they’ll have more time to do good without spinning their wheels trying to keep the brand wholesome, when that ship sailed a long time ago.

I think they lost their independence quite a while ago.
