A memorial for the front page of the internet. If you have left reddit or is considering leaving then this community is for you.

There’s also a blog documenting the rise and fall of reddit as well as news and thoughts on the whole issue.

It serves as an archive for posts and topics in case reddit decides to delete anti-reddit posts within its platform.

MODERATORS

I'm an amateur musician and music producer for some obscure genres. I made a Reddit account just for some specific musical subreddits that either aren't present on Lemmy or aren't active enough to be useful.

Instead, my feed is just total trash subreddits that I didn't ask for, because "people in my area" subscribe to them.

Exactly, it's unbearable. I checked in on there today for some updates on stuff I used to follow and man, they're miserable. Everyone is harshing each other, dispirited, untrusting.

Who ever asked what people near me follow, anyway? That's what YikYak was for, and that shit sucked.

Yik yak was hilarious. But it's no mystery why it's gone, the security risks were apparent on day 1.

You should have used old.reddit.com on the desktop. Hell, same goes for lemmy; if they have an old.* interface, it's much better than the 'modern' shit everyone is using. Not every website needs to look like a tiktok/twitter ripoff.
