Manchester City won the treble.

Despite a fine effort from Arsenal, City won the Premier League by 5 points. United were 14 points behind. All clubs will spend money and strengthen their squads in the summer.

Who in most likely to mount a challenge in 2023/2024 ?

Every summer there are stories about Silva and Gundogan wanting to leave England. De Bruyne, if the story is to be believed, is a 32 year old with a snapped hamstring.

Could be quite a rebuild for their midfield.

Chelsea, obviously*

*In my dreams.

My brain still finds it hard to parse that Thomas Tuchel won the Champions League in May 2021 and Chelsea dismissed him in September 2022.

Chelsea have a long history of sacking successful managers :(

@andyc @Spudger certainly gonna be interesting to see what happens with Poch. The profile of Chelsea squad can be kindly described as elite, but strange.

Elite, strange and 14th :(

@Spudger swap you for mediocre, downright bizzare, and 19th.

The biggest challenge they’ll face is the FFP hearing.

@Luke @andyc

I'm sure they'll find the right bank accounts to make some deposits.

Are you serious ? The 115 FFP charges have been in place for years. Nothing has happened and nothing will happen. Well, Citeh might get a paltry fine that the kit man could pay.

@andyc @Luke@lemmy.sdf.org I was being more flippant/facetious than serious. But until other clubs can match them financially they'll continue being dominant.

Hoping to see the score Luton Town 1 - 0 Manchester City up on the board this coming season. Home win for Luton.
