At first, coming from Hollow Knight, I really wasn't fond of the Hunter's Crest and would use the Reaper's Crest and the Wanderer's Crest for most of my playthrough, using the Architect's Crest for semi-cheesing difficult bosses.

My recent playthroughs focused on the Hunter's Crest and the Shaman's Crest and I found I really like them. The Hunter's Crest is great for fast fighting and dodging and the Shaman's Crest is great for silk regeneration together with Weavelight.

Now I really want to give the Witch and Beast Crests a thorough attempt.

I use too much reaper's because the pogo is easier and I can gather more silk which I use mostly for healing. Basically the same problem I had in Hollow Knight. I mostly heal and don't use soul or silk for anything else. At least in Silksong I occasionally use tools.

I use the reaper crest almost exclusively. My only real struggle with this game is boss fights and the extra silk from reaper gives me more staying power. I expanded the crest fully using all my memory lockets.

The other crests look fun but I doubt I'll do more than dabble with them

I used Hunter in the early game (even for quite a while after getting several of the others), but eventually switched to Reaper and have stuck with it for the most part since then. I used Shaman for the juggling challenge though, I think.
