In this lecture, Professor Jiang explains the three theories as to why and how societies rise and fall: the financialization of society, elite over-production, and the civilization life cycle.

At first glance this looks like an influence operation agent pretending to be a youtuber pretending to be a college professor pretending to know about history.

A thought that also went through my head, he talks kinda very deterministically. He seems very fixated on the 'exact' kind of relation of the contextes, although well differentiated, still with a manipulative undertone on what emerges of other things and not. Kinda sus for a teacher of his caliber - might aswell be charles manson preaching his girls how the world seems lol - netherless, the content is solid ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
