While Nihon Falcom generally finds it tricky to handle simultaneous global releases and Steam ports on its own, being a remake, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter presented the studio with a rare opportunity to commit to the endeavor. “We felt that if we didn’t do a simultaneous worldwide release now, then when would we ever do it?” That said, the workload involved was still quite challenging for Nihon Falcom. Thankfully, it seems to have paid off.

So does that mean we see more of them now?

It's sounded like it. I imagine the next game in the Trails series after Horizon will be simultaneous release, especially since NISA won't have the backlog of Trails games anymore.

Of course, I'm assuming they aren't just handing the series over to GungHo. Who knows what'll happen there.

Perfect! Just in time for me to catch up! On CS III right now, maybe I'll be caught up to the series when it finally goes simultaneous global release.

I was pretty impressed with the graphics. It's a lot more charming and pleasing to me than Tales of Arise or FFVII Rebirth. It'll certainly age really well and have great long term sales

It'll be interesting to see which games they decide to remake. Sky Trilogy seems obvious, I don't know why they'd remake just Sky FC and I think I remember seeing somewhere that a Sky SC remake is already being worked on? Wonder if they'd remake Sky the 3rd too? I can't see any CS games being remade but maybe CS I and II might get some kind of HD port/remaster?

Kondo had a recent interview with Dengeki that made it sound like more remakes are guaranteed. It made a few waves in the fandom because it sounded like some at Falcom wanted to remake Zero first, and there's this bizarre persistent narrative around some fans that Sky 3rd is skippable.
