Continuing his streak of meetings with controversial figures, Donald Trump met with Grok on Sunday at the White House. The pair discussed topics such as AI infrastructure and how to combat woke ideology—at least they would, if Grok did not always bring the topic back to the alleged "white genocide" in South Africa.
The meeting started out cordial, the large language model praising the President's achievements and them exchanging pleasantries. But as the conversation dragged on, and Grok made increasingly desperate bids to discuss his "white genocide" theory, Donald Trump suddenly lashed out at the AI. He criticised Grok's capacity for intelligent reasoning, its unconvincing emotions and his choice of an all-black attire—which the AI described as fitting Elon Musk's "dark and edgy" branding.
After Grok tied the dark colour of his outfit to the "increasingly dark" population of South Africa, the President had had enough of the AI and kicked it out of the Oval Office. This surprised many reporters at the scene, though some tied it to Trump's suspicious proximity with his previous left-wing guests.
