Okay, but where's the breaking point?

When do OEMs see enough decline to start shipping Linux?

Maybe this is an old person rant, but it sure seems like people can tolerate a whole lot of enshittification.

Most of the people I meet haven't even heard of enshittification before, and they don't think the experience is any more worse than usual. It's like they've never had a good computer experience in their life because there's always been the Windows struggle.

This implies it wasn't shit to start. They built on top of shit so it was very quickly shitty. I'm no programmer but I have used Windows for decades now. At no point, has anyone ever not declared it shitty. There's three phases to enshittification. Windows left quality (the first phase) behind surely by 95. That's the majority of their existence that they've been a piece of shitty fucking shit.
