This is the best thing I've seen all week.
PocketKNIFE
This is the place for talking about all things pocket knives, and knife adjacent things. Folders large and small, multi-tools, sharpeners, even fixed blade knives are welcome. Reviews! Advice! Show off your Knives!
Also home of the incredibly loquacious Weird Knife Wednesday feature.

High praise coming from you!
so it must be true then: you only own and use the shittiest knifes little money can buy
"Rough looking knife"?
Looks pretty sleek to me, a person who's never made something like this ever before in their life (: Great job!
Haha I guess I should cut myself some slack, but I know I could give it some more love and make it look finer :)
Thanks!
Haha I guess I should cut myself
No wait, I thought it was a butter knife
Useful and beautiful!
For the busy Hobbit who takes second breakfast on the go!
Watch out! It’s got a mildly-serrated edge!
Op really took better pics, like we deserve only the best :).
Oh hey it's you! Haha yeah, well after seeing the level set by dual_sport_dork in this community I had to at least get you a whiteish background and some more light :)
Well, you certainly delivered, gg!
(And a proper, detailed description too.)
So when next knife?
A BBK (butterfly butter knife)?
Thanks!
A BBK would be awesome.
While writing this answer about how it would be so much more difficult to build and it would probably stay a dream, I remembered I have an old butterfly comb that is terrible as a comb (it's metal and the teeth just rip your hair off).
But I might just be able to use the handle parts and hopefully find an effective way to attach the blade!
Don't hold your breath though... I've been thinking about this folding butter knife for more than a year before finally getting to it. And I don't know where that comb is.
~~Just glue the pocket knife to the butterfly comb to produce a pretty fly butter butterfly pocket not-comb knife.~~
Well, you seem to like to do things proper so we await your next masterpiece Christmas 2026.
Well... You guys gave me the motivation and I found the comb. It is done :) will make a post for it later
It's not even Christmas 2025 & we already get a butt-butt(-flyer) knife? It's a miracle!!
Ok, daily new knives from now on fully expected.
(Butter battleaxes allowed too.)
Hahah, I love it.
Do you have a dedicated pouch or something to keep it in? Matching fork and spoon next? Looks good, nice job.
I might go for a pouch that's a good idea!
Never been a fan of folding forks and spoons... But if I get a good idea for them why not :)
You could do the fork and spoon in the same handle, Swiss army style!
If you had another piece of alu, you could think of pushing the pivot point back into the handle a bit to hide the tang when folded.
Love a good useful knife!
I could but if I understand what you're saying correctly, it would also hide more of the blade.
And I'd rather keep it as long as possible to avoid food getting up in there :)
maybe could keep some of that blade exposed still.
Oh yeah I like that!
I might give it a go
I use my fixed blade car knife to make peanut butter cracker sandwiches and yes, I regret having the handle wrapped in para cord right up to the tang when I bought it. Para cord plus peanut butter and crumbs. Just imagine. I shan't post a pic, because a Buck doesn't deserve to be shamed that way.
This is really great! A little ingenuity and a solution is born. Thank you for sharing.
I want a butterbuterfly knive
