Welcome to /c/Gay - Your LGBTQ+ Haven

We're more than just a community; we're your haven for celebrating LGBTQ+ culture and connecting with like-minded individuals.

Our Partnered Discord Server: GayWave

Community Rules:

~ 1. No bigotry. Hating someone off of their race, culture, creed, sexuality, or identity is not remotely acceptable. Mistakes can happen but do your best to respect others.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person. This includes speculating about someones sexuality, no matter how "obvious" it may be.

~ 4. Keep it LGBTQ+ related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love posts but 3-4 in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon' and fuck over our artist friends.

TBH a lot of what they describe sounds like “oldschool” AI. Similarity ranking, categorization, profiling, things outside the domain of LLMs. It’s stuff Google and others have been doing with “AI” adtech for decades.

Maybe the CEO is just hammering the AI buzzword.

I think a 2025 CEO is required to sprinkle references to AI into every earnings call and strategy/board meeting like they had to in the late Nineties regarding Y2K.

Grindr itself has been doing that. But likely they will also start selling training datasets to LLM companies.

Arison said that, with consent, the app could explain “why it made sense” for people to speak to other users on the app, making them “much more willing to open a conversation.”

wtf does that even mean? And why does it require an LLM?

You should talk to this guy, he’s a sweetie—shows profile of random daddy looking to fist.

Grindr has become so bad, toxic and ad riddled that i wouldn't mind offloading all online cruising to an LLM. But I also wouldn't never pay a cent to this company.

Sometimes I wonder how can they still be in business, that app is just publicity and scams. Romeo.com is far superior and respects GDPR rules.
