probably has something to do with Beatty owning the rights to Dick Tracy.

My understanding is Warren Beatty owns the rights to Dick Tracy and refuses to let anyone near it.

Not sure if that applies to musicals specifically, but I'm sure he'd object to anything being made.

Love this classic. It has such a great cast.

it goes hard and it is hard to believe that was a studio movie - from a modern perspective it seems like quite a risky move
