Love seeing people discuss praxis and ways that folks can get out and make a difference in their community :)

Feeding is good but cash is better. Homeless people know what they need better than you do

one can assume the best is what the person asked for.

Food donations can come for free, cash sadly doesn’t.

I guess those are called donations, but i fully agree that it's way way easier to get food for free

My local FNB collects food donations from local shops at the end of the day and uses them to cook free meals for the community. Its a great initiative.

I've been arguing with my wife that we don't need the extra money from selling our eggs and to let me donate all of them to the community pantry. We settled on donating half for now, and using the money from selling the rest for dry goods to donate.

I was watching an old RATM performance last night and saw Tom Morello had painted 'arm the homeless' on his guitar.

We need them back, that's all I'll say

Oh because it helps them avoid needing to engage with capitalism.

I keep thinking about Jesus saying sell everything you own, donate it to the homeless, and preach the word of God. So if you're nice to them they could go around preaching socialism
