Great first half. Silly of Calafiori to concede that penalty. But some lovely passing and positioning.

That was a frustrating second half. So much potential going forward but no end product. Although Gabi J got royally screwed on that outside decision. He was clearly on-sire.

That injury time goal was horrible defending. Leaving an attachment competition unmarked at the far post... That's just Sunday league stuff.

The refereeing was terrible in general. Some of the worst decisions I've seen in a while.

So a couple things. Eze was MOTM, followed by Havertz and that made me happy.

I'm not sure if it was just a second half thing or it was Ødegaard, but the lack of pace and the hesitation towards the incisive passes jarred me.

I'm also really not convinced about Hincapie.

Giving up slack goals has bitten us and it will keep being an achilles heel. We have to get our heads right, especially in second halves and/or if we a leading. I think that is the main thing…which is of course, easier said than done.

Yeah I didn’t think either were outstanding today.

Not that it mattered today but it will matter against better teams. Letting that final goal happen isn’t good enough really.

Anyway. We move, is it?

I think it was just nice to see vertical passing and attacking impetus rather than the overly patient play we've become accustomed to.

That last goal and even the shit corner by Madueke were disconcerting. We need to be better.

Anyway. We move, is it?

Indeed!

Be interesting to see who we get. I heard mention of who the group would probably be, I think Leverkusen was one IIRC
