I had a mascara wand scratch my eye and it did not heal for six months. I needed an optometrist to scrape the damaged tissue from my cornea so my eye could heal properly. He didn't warn me how painful it would be and I spent the next two days in bed.

As someone who has a thing about putting anything into my eyes, this made my skin crawl. I'm sorry that happened to you, hopefully you're all healed up and that there isn't an eyepatch involved.

It was completely accidental, but it was my partner's fault. He couldn't understand why I didn't want him in the bathroom (he is a clumsy giant) and felt really bad about it
