One of the original, and currently largest, punk communities on Lemmy. The purpose of this place should be obvious from the title. Self promotion is ok, but spam is not, so keep it reasonable.

The goal is to help everyone find new tracks from around the world. Post new music, or your old favourites, but hopefully as you browse the group you'll find something you haven't heard before. Think more crate digging than top 40 streaming services.

Where possible please try to link to Bandcamp, so others can support the bands you love.

I met the Dead Milkmen in Houston 1990. I think it was the Axiom?

They played pool with me and a few female friends from UH before the gig. I recognized the singer and the band, they seemed more interested in talking with the girls. At this point I think "Punk Rock Girl" had been on MTV maybe a year, but none of the girls had seen it or recognized them if they did. So we played pool, I don't remember who won. Then they excused themselves and the show started.

The venue was pretty small and it was a tight show. They did a cover of the Misfits "Astro Zombies" iirc. and maybe a few other covers. They came down after the show and talked to the girls.

Anyways this the the first song off the first Dead Milkmen album I purchased.
