Hi all, as the title says, what is my best bet for a Big Muff cheaper alternative? I see a number of pedals on AliExpress, is any of those acceptable?

Thx!

You could make one. There's even kits available. Making your own pedals is a rewarding side hobby to playing electric instruments.

the Behringer Super Fuzz SF300 is crazy inexpensive. You can find it online for less than $30, and it’s a lot of fun to play around with. You won’t get the same fat tones you can get from a muff, but it’s still pretty flexible.

thanks I'll look into it

Big muff is not a massively complicated circuit, those Aliexpress ones are fine if you just want the sound. Some of them are fairly highly regarded as is like the ones from Mooer

I think they're cheap enough to give one a go until you know more what you might want to spend more money on.

yea thought so, on Ali there are a few costing 20 euros... might try one

Feel free to post any you're thinking of if you want an opinion

  • Mooer
  • Mosky
  • Rowin

There are others I'm sure

rowin is the cheapest at 20, the mosky looks like the best at 35, what do you think?

If it is the larger format Mosky "big fuzz" for €35 I'd say go for it!

yea that one!
