Wow. Beautiful piece, and all kinds of fascinating things to look at.
I love how 'unbred' the dogs look, and that ladder is amazing. Wonder what they're going to do with the goat's blood, and the animal's body itself?
Animals ritually killed were often mostly butchered and consumed as normal - too much of a waste to burn the whole thing! But you make a celebration of it, and everyone feels closer to The Gods
Blood likewise could be used in religious or cultural rituals, such as divination, but also consumed as food, as in black soup
