It's a "nationwide" strike on local public transport across Germany on Friday and Saturday. Union "Verdi" put out a call to strike on all employees affected by the current negotiations for "öffentlicher Nahverkehr".

If you rely on local public transport to reach your destinations on Friday and Saturday you better check beforehand if your connection is affected.

Not every company that offers public transport falls under the current negotiations. Even if you're using a connection that is not affected but other local connections are or you're using another way of transport, please keep in mind that you might still experience inconveniences because people will have to switch to alternative transportation.

Services from Deutsche Bahn itself should not be affected. Lower Saxony is still under peace obligation and exempt.

Going by the info in the article the decision whether to join the strike is still pending for Hamburger Hochbahn, Verkehrsbetriebe Hamburg-Holstein, and Providers in Baden-Württemberg.
