you have to have at least two major powers in it on opposite sides, i think. and it cant be a proxy war, even a half-proxy war like ukraine.

europe is fully vassalized to the US and not a separate power bloc. their only tentative bid for some independence has just been thoroughly demolished in the last few years. this war is making things even worse for them.
and europe is only fighting this war through the ukrainian proxy, not directly anyway.
